The learning objectives are: to review the present principles of construction of private contracts and analyse how they have evolved over 20 years, in order to understand them better in practice.
The learning rationale is: to enable attendees to advise clients as to how to interpret contracts, to advise on the admissibility of evidence going to contract interpretation and to improve advocacy skills in that area.

- Professor Timothy Endicott: Construction, implied terms and rectification, concentrating on Marks and Spencer.
- Nicolas Le Poidevin QC: Construction of trusts and wills.
