EVENING SEMINAR
“FIXED-END TRIALS OR TRIBULATION?”
The Chancery Division, in conjunction with the Chancery Bar Association and the Judicial College, is holding a series of seminars on topics which have been selected to be of interest to the judiciary and profession generally, and in particular to those appointed to sit as deputy High Court judges.
The first of these seminars will take the form of three short presentations followed by a general discussion. The main topic will be the mechanics and merits of fixed-end trials which are now standard in the Chancery Division. The new shorter and flexible trial procedures, being piloted in the Chancery Division as from 1 October 2015, will also be touched on.
The speakers include Mr Justice Newey, Mr Justice Birss and Ms Clare Stanley QC.
The seminar will be held on Tuesday 24 November 2015 in the Old Court Room, Lincoln’s Inn at 5.30 pm.
It will last approximately 1.5 hours and drinks will be served at 7pm.
Please could you let Francesca Compton know via email whether or not you will be attending this seminar by Weds 21st November. Places are limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.
We do hope you will be able to attend.
