The Chancery Division, in conjunction with the Chancery Bar Association and the Judicial College, is holding an evening seminar on a topic which is of interest and importance to the judiciary and legal profession generally.

The Seminar, chaired by the Honourable Mr Justice Roth, will provide a demonstration of concurrent expert evidence, or “hot tubbing”, in which a judge, counsel and experts for both parties deal with a problem scenario. This will be followed by a general discussion of the issues arising and questions.

We are extremely grateful to His Honour Judge David Waksman QC, Lesley Anderson QC, Mark Cawson QC, Brent Wilkinson FCA, partner at BDO LLP Manchester and Adam Smith FCA, partner at BDO LLP Leeds, who will provide the demonstration, and to Professor Rachael Mulheron of Queen Mary University, London, an acknowledged expert on “hot tubbing”, who has kindly agreed to comment.

The seminar will be held on Monday 30 October 2017 at 5.30 pm, 2nd Floor of the Rolls Building, Fetter Lane, London EC4A 1NL.

It will last approximately 1.5 hours and drinks will be served at 7pm.

Learning objective:  To explore the procedure for concurrent expert evidence.

Learning rationale:  To enable participants to understand how and when the procedure for concurrent expert evidence under PD 35.11 can be used to best effect in litigation.

Please could you let Francesca Compton know via email whether or not you will be attending this seminar by Monday 9 October 2017 if you are not a member.  ChBA members need to click on the booking button below. Places are limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.
