- Being a good pupil – what do pupil supervisors want from a pupil?
- How to manage relationships with supervisors (esp. asking for and getting feedback timeously), clerks, other members of chambers (i.e. getting positive exposure to all of chambers).
- Managing a remote pupillage / participating in remote chambers life.
- Handling formal assessments during pupillage.
- The resources available (people will probably know about the various libraries, but some have specialist collections, which may be less well-known).
- Keeping on top of relevant Bar Council/BSB paperwork.
- How to make the most of the various courses that pupils have to go on.
- Wellness/saying no.
- Preparing for practice in due course, including taxes/accounts, wigs & gowns etc. This topic obviously becomes more relevant as people begin their second six or get towards the end of pupillage, depending on whether they have a practising second six. We could also consider running a ‘new tenants’ event in, say, 12 months’ time?
- Encouragement to get involved in ChBA events (including the JCB) and of course CLIPS.
- Mentoring scheme.
