Template proposals

• Living Wage – a template proposal to your Management Committee/Head of Chambers proposing that cleaners in Chambers be paid the independently assessed Living Wage. (This is drafted assuming that services are arranged through an agency, but can easily be adapted to other employment models and to other roles in Chambers.) This document sets out both the moral case and the business case for this decision.
• Staff Volunteering proposal – a template proposal to your Management Committee/Head of Chambers proposing that members of staff be given one day of paid leave per year in which they can volunteer for a pre-approved charity.
• Staff Volunteering policy – a template policy, for your Management Committee/Head of Chambers to consider putting into place (together with the proposal above).
• Pro Bono Connect – a template proposal to your Management Committee that Chambers participates in the Pro Bono Connect scheme (which helps barristers and solicitors work together on pro bono cases).
• The ChBA plans to develop more templates, and would welcome your own examples and feedback.
